About The Northwest Playwrights Alliance
Founded in 2004, the Northwest Playwrights Alliance (NPA) connects playwrights, actors, directors, and audiences to support the development and production of new performance works in the Pacific Northwest.
Readings & Publications
Each month, NPA presents professional readings of new works by regional playwrights at Seattle Repertory Theatre. NPA has co-produced festivals with theaters of all sizes throughout the Northwest and produces an annual anthology of short plays, "NorthNorthwest."
Collaborations

For the past nine years, NPA has collaborated with Western Washington University (and the Dramatist Guild of America) to produce a series of ten-minute plays which we tour to New York and England each spring.
In partnership with the Broadway Center for the Performing Arts in Tacoma, University of Puget Sound, the Olympia Family Theater and other organizations, NPA produces the annual Double Shot Festival of Overnight Plays. For the past fourteen summers, NPA has co-produced a collection of short plays with the Academy of International Education, featuring Japanese students who are former high school drops-outs, and who are now attending Saint Martin's University or Pierce College. Additionally, NPA has hosted a number of forums and workshops featuring acclaimed artists including Steven Dietz, Lee Blessing, Misha Berson, Braden Abraham, Sheila Daniels, Jerry Manning, and Braden Abraham. |

NPA was co-founded by Brian Tyrrell (retired) and Bryan Willis (playwright-in-residence).
